Otavio Dutra
Decades dedicated to professional football in different countries — the vision behind DFA.
DUTRA Football Academy is built around one simple belief: football can develop much more than football players.
Dutra Football Academy was born from Otavio Dutra's vision after decades dedicated to professional football in different countries. Throughout his career, Otavio Dutra identified the need to create an academy capable of uniting modern methodology, human development, and technical excellence. To transform this vision into a solid institution prepared to comprehensively serve athletes, he joined forces with sports physiotherapist Asep Azis Muslim, a professional widely recognized in Indonesia for his work in high-performance sports and the development of specialized physiotherapy centers. This union combines international experience in professional football with excellence in sports health, creating an academy prepared to develop athletes holistically.
DFA is built by a leadership team with complementary areas of expertise. Together, the three leaders bring football development, sports performance, creative direction, communication, and brand development into one shared vision.
Decades dedicated to professional football in different countries — the vision behind DFA.
Sports physiotherapist widely recognized in Indonesia for high-performance sports and specialized physiotherapy centers.
Leads DFA's creative direction, communication, and brand development.
DFA brings these complementary areas together with one purpose:
“Developed from Brazilian Football Principles. Adapted for Indonesian Players.”
DFA WAY is not simply a tactical system. It is a complete philosophy:
We want someone to watch a DFA training session and say: “That's the Dutra way of developing players.” Without looking at the uniform. Without looking at the logo. Without looking at the field. Just by their behavior.
Portuguese is introduced as part of the DFA experience because Brazilian football principles are part of the academy's identity. Players progressively become familiar with football vocabulary, commands, numbers, encouragement, technical expressions, and match language used within the DFA environment.
At DFA, education and behavior are part of player development. Every player, parent, and coach commits to the academy's standards on and off the pitch — guided by our values of Respect, Discipline, Excellence, Leadership, and Integrity.
The full policy is shared with every DFA family at enrollment and is available in the Parents Zone.
A clear developmental direction from early age to elite football preparation.
Content, duration, communication style, and training demands are matched to each player’s stage of development.
DFA embraces the creativity, courage, ball mastery, and joy of play that define Brazilian football philosophy.
Players grow not only as footballers but also as disciplined, confident, responsible, and respectful individuals.
Ready players are challenged through matches, competitions, assessments, talent identification, and elite programs.
At advanced levels, development is supported by strength and conditioning, sports science, video analysis, physiotherapy, and injury-prevention programs.
Able to control the ball and execute skills in a variety of game situations.
Able to read space, recognise situations, and make the right decisions.
Possesses movement and physical capacity appropriate to age and game demands.
Shows discipline, sportsmanship, courage, respect, and responsibility.
Has the habits, knowledge, and mentality to face the next stage of development.
The DUTRA Brazilian Player Development Pathway is a structured football development system for players from age 4 through to elite competition preparation. Inspired by the creativity and courage of Brazilian football, every player is guided to develop technique, game intelligence, character, physical condition, and responsibility according to their stage of development.
At DFA, players are not grouped by age alone. Each level represents a stage of development with its own objectives, training methods, and character.

Parents fill in player data, training history, health condition, and program choice.
Players join a trial session for their age group. At Seleção and Profissional levels, a more structured assessment may be carried out.
The coaching team determines the most suitable group based on the player’s age and readiness.
Players and parents receive information on schedules, equipment, rules, communication, payment, and program expectations.
Player development is reviewed through training observation, matches, discipline, and level-appropriate development reports.
A data-driven approach to monitor and optimise every player’s development.
Licensed coaches following DFA development standards.
Choose a program based on the player’s age. The DFA team then runs a trial or assessment to confirm the group matches the child’s ability and readiness.
Yes. The Sementinha, Ginga, and Canarinho programs accept players of varying experience. Coaches adjust challenges to the stage of development.
No. Placement in Seleção Elite, Elite Squad, or Pro Pathway is based on assessment, consistency, physical readiness, playing ability, character, and commitment.
Competition is matched to the level and program goals. At early ages, the priority is playing experience and development. At advanced levels, competition becomes a more important part of the evaluation process.
Training frequency depends on the level and program package. The higher the level, the greater the need for technical, tactical, physical, match, and recovery work.
No academy can guarantee a professional contract. DFA provides development, training standards, evaluation, competition, and development access to improve a player’s readiness and opportunities.
DFA provides periodic evaluations according to each level’s system. Reports focus on development, player strengths, areas to improve, and training recommendations.
